Core democratic values: cell phones in school

I think that kids should have a phone in school for safety reasons. When kids ride the bus or walk to school a phone can make them a lot safer. A phone can help kids keep in touch with their parents, and call for help if they need it.

I think that it would be fair if kids had the responsibility to bring their phones to school as long they use them responsibly. Kids should also be able to bring their phones to school as long as they use them responsibly. Kids should also be able to bring their phones to school if they can be responsible with their phones.

I think that kids should be able to have cell phones in school because kids are allowed to bring DS and Game boys to school so why can’t we have cell phones.

it would be more convenient if we could email ourselves on our phones and not have to get out a computer and have to log on and stuff. And some people do not like or do not know how to use it.

And I think that kids would be happier if they could have cell phones in school.

I think Cell phones should be allowed in school. They should be able in school because it should be for emergencies, and only emergencies too. In fact I have a whole explanation of why you should be able to have cell phones in school. They should be able to because if there is an emergency they could take their phone out and call their parents. Like if they don’t know if there going on the bus or not. If they have divorced parents and they don’t know if they’re going to their Mothers house or their Fathers house. Or if they don’t know if they have choice hour or not. Or another reason is they would only use them before school, during lunch, during choice hour and after school. At lunch children can play there DS’s so children should have Liberty to use their phones during lunch just like the children that play their DS’s during lunch. On the bus people usually get board of the ride. So if they got their phone they could do something on their wait. Choice Hour if it’s a choice hour they could get it out and do something with it if their choice hour teacher says the child can. The last thing is something why they should only have it before school, lunch time, choice hour, and after school. The information is that it could make distractions in class. That’s because they COULD be playing games on their phone. They would break other children’s Pursuit of Happiness of learning in class. Lots of other things too.

kd should be able to have cell phones in school without distracting the class. One reason is because they COULD be distracting the class, especially the kids that want to learn. It would be disrupting their pursuit of happiness by not letting them focus on their work. A few times that would be okay for kids to use cell phones at school are at lunch, recess, before and after class, and on the bus. Another reason why is because they COULD be texting a friend about another person. That person might see the bad things written about them on the phone screen. It’s not good equality, which means to be fair, to talk about others unfairly by MAYBYE starting rumors about them. Also, they might not be telling the truth. The last reason is they COULD be playing games. It would make them have less education because they would not be paying attention to their teacher. It also might be noisy because most games on cell phones are. It’s not common good because it’s distracting. Those are the reasons why I think kids should be able to have cell phones in school if they can use them without being distracting.

Kids should not be allowed to use cell phones in class. It is just too distracting for them, other kids, and the teacher. If the kids were not allowed to use cell phones in class they would get a lot more done and would not get in trouble as much. They might actually learn more and not have to take that grade over again, or end up in summer school. Parents would be very upset if they found out their kids were doing badly in school because of the cell phone, and by the high cell phone bills. Teachers could also be affected negatively because kids would be texting each other for answers on tests and just chatting. Teachers wouldn’t be able to concentrate because of all those little sounds that cell phones make, and having to get after kids for disrupting the class and cheating. Everyone would have less time to learn.
Cell phones in school can affect EVERYONE! It is really important to make sure that kids are using cell phones properly like in an emergency or after school. Otherwise, cell phones might not be such a good idea in school.

No Cell Phones in School!

Every kid wants a cell phone and the kids that have them bring them to school and they aren`t always a good thing in school. The point is that cell phones can be a distraction and a cheating tool for some kids that bring them to school. Principals should ban cell phones from classrooms. All students should have an equal opportunity to learn without a distraction of cellphones. With the distraction of cellphones not all students can learn. Cell phones can be used for cheating- by taking pictures of tests or texting for answers, and students could use the calculator function when they aren`t supposed to. Having a cell phone could encourage kids not to be trustworthy or truthful. Not allowing cellphones will help kids be truthful because they will use their phone to cheat then later on they will depend on it to give him/her the answer. Not allowing cellphones will help all students. Students will not be able to cheat or be a distraction- this will improve education and the common good.

Cell phones in School
I think cell phones should be allowed in school because of liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Reason#1: If someone misses the bus they have the liberty to call their parents. Reason#2: In case of a sickness they would have the justice to call their parents. Reason#3: if they get snowed in should the take the bus or not or like going home on the bus or not. To call your mom or dad to pick you up, if you hurt yourself very badly , also to ask if you’re going home with someone. If you get sick you can get picked up, to get picked up after school, to go home with a friend. I you get snowed in for them to get picked up, to walk home in the snow, or to stay there.

Cell phones in school proposal
We think that kids should be able to have phones in school at certain times. The times would be before school, during lunch, choice hours, and after school. The reason for It being after school is so you could call your parents to know if they’re going either on the bus or getting picked up , if their parents are divorced and they don’t know if they’re going over to their Mom’s or Dad’s , or other reasons. The reason why they should be able to during lunch is because kids get to use and play their DS’s so they should be able to use them during lunch. The reason for choice hour is so if they’re not doing the thing in their choice hour they can ask their choice hour teacher if they can use their cell phone. They should use it before school so they can talk to their friends and family to say things before they go to their room. They should turn off their phones at 8:18. They should ONLY use it at the certain times. They can’t use their phones during class for reasons like games which could interrupt lots of peoples learning also about anything else of other things and people.
